CPS Student Teacher Application Window (Part 2) for Fall 2024

The CPS Talent Office is accepting applications for Fall 2024 student teaching placements. Please complete Part 2 of your application during this window to be considered for placement in the district. The Student Teacher team will begin sending approval notices to student teachers around June 17, 2024.

The CPS Talent Office will be hosting the CPS Student Teacher Virtual Orientation for all Fall 2024 applicants who have completed Part 1 of the application. Attending a Virtual Orientation is mandatory. Student Teachers may select attending either date.

Registration links to attend one of the two meetings will be provided to applicants by email after successfully completing Part 1 of the application.

P-STEP Miscellaneous Employee Onboarding

We will hold P-STEP Miscellaneous Employee Onboarding on Wednesday February 21st 3:30pm-4:30pm.

Description: 

Please join the Student Teaching Team for the Spring  Miscellaneous Employee Onboarding Session. This event for non-CPS employed pre-service teacher only.

Within this meeting we will cover:

  • How to access the Miscellaneous Employee Requisition.

  • A breakdown of the proceeding email that will be sent by the CPS Staffing Office

  • Criminal background check, drug testing, and TB test result requirements.

  • Documents requiring signature.

  • Confirmation of onboarding

  • Early Offer protocol



All P-STEP student teachers who are not employed by CPS should be present at this onboarding session. Please email Shaquita Presley at sdpresley@cps.edu to schedule an alternate time to meet if your school schedule will not accommodate this date and time.
